This is just a few notes on this book that I would like to cover before jumping into the book proper.
First. I am going to be posting the chapters as I write them. I have no strict schedule. I’m just going to upload as I write. So it could be weeks in between chapters, or hours. I am also uploading this entirely as a rough draft. So there will be errors, whether it’s grammatical or continuity. I know there will be some. The writing itself will also not be the best, but it’s a rough draft. When I edit it, it will hopefully improve.
Second. I am a Christian, but I do not write strict Christian books. I believe we live in a fallen world full of sinful and broken people. To create a book in which the only people who do questionable things are the “bad” guys would be an inaccurate representation of the world we live in. I believe that no one is born “good.” So my characters will not necessarily always do or say “good” things. They are humans, and that’s how I intend to write them.
Third. This book is also my first attempt at writing in the first person, so it is an experiment in more ways than one. I’m hoping that my writing will only improve over the course of writing this and that it will be a great learning experience.
As for a final note, I would like to thank the Pirates of the Caribbean scores for fueling the writing sessions for this book. It wouldn’t have been the same without them.
